Signature Event: Digital Challenge Winners
“How can Music Academy fellows shape and change their approach to performance in a new medium?”
Music Academy fellows compete in piano (for solo piano, vocal piano, and collaborative piano fellows), vocal (for vocal fellows), and instrumental categories. Fellows were invited to create a three- to seven- minute video of their choosing that was judged on musical/artistic excellence, technical proficiency (i.e., sound and video quality), and creativity and innovation. Competitors utilized the technology package and training provided by the Music Academy Remote Learning Institute to support their projects. A preliminary round of judging was conducted by 21C Media Group, and one winner in each category was selected by the esteemed jury: pianist Conrad Tao, violinist Jennifer Koh, Founder of Beth Morrison Projects, Beth Morrison, and Music Academy of the West Board Member Pamela Strobel. The winners receive an award of $2,500 per entry. Learn more about the Digital Challenge and how it came to fruition in today’s Resonance Blog post. READ THE BLOGWinners & Projects
