Toyin Spellman-Diaz
Toyin Spellman-Diaz has developed a reputation as a world-class oboist. Ms. Spellman-Diaz is an original member of the Grammy-nominated chamber music ensemble Imani Winds, which has toured the world and performed in such renowned halls as Carnegie Hall, Disney Hall, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, and Wigmore Hall in London. As an orchestral oboist she has performed in the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, the New Jersey Symphony, American Symphony Orchestra, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and Orchestra of St. Lukes. Ms. Spellman-Diaz has performed numerous solo works with the Chicago Civic Orchestra, Manhattan Virtuosi, the Antara Ensemble, and at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC where she was hailed by the Washington Post for having a "smooth, controlled tone and excellent technique." Her chamber music credits include performing with such esteemed groups as Alarm Will Sound and Camerata Pacifica. Ms. Spellman-Diaz graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where she completed her bachelor's degree, and received her master's and professional studies degrees from Manhattan School of Music.
