


Madelin received her bachelor's degree at Eastman School of Music as a student of Kathryn Cowdrick, and was an Arts Leadership Certificate Candidate at Eastman's Institute for Music Leadership. Recent operatic roles include: Mercédès (Carmen), Taller Daughter (Proving Up), Oberto (Alcina), and Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte). This March, Madelin performed the role of Paula in Eastman Opera Theater's production of Daniel Catán's Florencia en el Amazonas. She is one of the 2022 Ornest Award recipients, awarded for excellence in academic and musical study at Eastman. She was also selected by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars as a 2019 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. An advocate for promoting music by underrepresented composers, Madelin has been an active member of Representation Matters (RM) since 2020. An outreach program created by Eastman alumnus, Travon Walker, RM educates primary and secondary school students about classical music through a POC and BIPOC lens, with the goal of raising awareness for the lack of representation in classical music.
