Ben Cornavaca
BEN CORNAVACA, a 2018 Music Academy Percussion Studio alumnus from East Brunswick, New Jersey, is currently pursuing his master's degree at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where he studies with Ted Atkatz. Previously, he studied at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Daniel Druckman.
Ben is a multifaceted percussionist and regularly performs as an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician. Especially dedicated to new music, he has recently participated in premieres of works by Kaija Saariaho, Gabriela Ortiz, and Tan Dun in collaboration with the composers. Beyond performance, Ben is passionate about teaching, having held teaching fellowships in music theory, analysis, and aural skills at Juilliard for three years.
