Yeonsu Lee
2021 Viola Fellow
YEONSU LEE ('20) 24, born in Seoul, South Korea, is earning her master's degree at Rice University Shepherd School of Music studying under James Dunham. Yeonsu has won prizes in the Music Association of Korea, Strad Music, Kimpho Philharmonic Orchestra, and Seokyoung University competitions, and has performed at Youngsan Art Center, Jordan Hall, and Seoul Art Center. She is a member of Dalbodre Piano Quintet.
Yeonsu earned her bachelor’s degree at New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Dimitri Murrath and Nicholas Cords, and studied viola at Seoul Arts High School with Hanna Lee and Deajin Whang. She was also a 2019 fellow in the Aspen Conducting Orchestra.
