Julia Ernst
Soprano
Julia earned her bachelor's degree from Loyola University as a student of Irini Kyriakidou-Hymel. She has continued to reside and work in New Orleans, Louisiana since graduating. There, she has served as cantor for the St. Francis of Assisi Church since 2020. In 2024, she won the New Orleans District Winner at the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and the second-place prize at the FAVA Grand Concours French Opera and Art Song Competition. Julia has appeared with the Lousiana Philharmonic and performed as Lia in Debussy's L’enfant prodigue, Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, and Countess Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro.
