Jill Rode
Director of Philanthropy, Individual Giving
Born and raised in Orange County, California, Jill came to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB and receive her degree in biopsychology. After serving as the Vice President of Philanthropy in her sorority, her path changed to fundraising, and she hasn't looked back.
Recognized as Fundraiser of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Jill has served as Director of Development for many organizations on the Central Coast, including the American Red Cross, Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara Symphony, and the Channel Islands YMCA.
Jill is a frequently requested speaker at conferences and for webinars due to her expertise in fundraising and planned giving, including for the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, Western Regional Planned Giving Conference, and Crescendo Creative Gift Conference.
An active volunteer, she has served as President of the Junior League of Santa Barbara as well as the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Currently, Jill serves on the board of the South Coast Railroad Museum & Goleta Depot and volunteers for Dream Foundation's Flower Empower program and the Planned Parenthood Booksale.
Jill is married to her husband, Scott, and they have two adult daughters, Katelyn and Jenna. You will frequently find Jill in the low brass masterclasses, as she is a fan as Katelyn plays trombone as well as piano.
