Jared Werlein
baritone
Jared Werlein is earning a master’s degree at The Juilliard School where he studies with Betsy Bishop. Roles performed there include Sodbuster (cover) in Proving Up by Missy Mazzoli, and Mercurio in Handel's Atalanta. He attended the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory in 2018, 2019, and 2022, and there performed the role of Leporello in Mozart's Don Giovanni.
"The Music Academy has so many opportunities to better my craft and perform onstage. While most programs only focus on opera, I'm very excited that this program focuses on song as well. I believe that this experience will help me focus on my interpretation of character and how to become the characters I'm playing on-stage.”
