Artistic Administrator
Indigo Fischer joined the Music Academy of the West in 2021 as Artistic Operations Coordinator, swiftly advancing to Artistic Operations Manager and currently serving as the Artistic Administrator. In her role, she oversees key areas including chamber music programming, guest artist relations, and festival scheduling. Prior to her full-time position, Indigo held seasonal roles as an artist liaison at both the National Repertory Orchestra and the Music Academy of the West.
An award-winning flutist and former Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Indigo co-founded Quintessence woodwind quintet which was a two-time finalist in the Coltman Chamber Music Competition. Indigo also has extensive experience teaching, both as a private flute instructor and as the graduate Teaching Assistant for The University of Texas at Austin flute studio.
Indigo Fischer received her Master of Music from The University of Texas at Austin, where she was one of three university-wide recipients of a 2021 Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award for her virtual degree recital. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance and a micro-credential in Arts Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder, and is an alumna of Interlochen Arts Academy.
