Chandrika Tandon

Composer and vocalist, Chandrika Tandon, was trained by masters in Hindustani, Carnatic, and Western traditions. Her album, Soul Call, topped world music charts and earned a Grammy nomination. All four of her albums, including the recent Shivoham – The Quest, were released on her not-for-profit label, Soul Chants Music. Her “limpid, serene voice” – as The New York Times describes it – has filled major venues around the world, including Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian, Olympiastadion, Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, and the 2016 World Culture Festival in New Delhi.

In addition to being founder of her financial advisory firm, Chandrika Tandon is a member of the Board of Lincoln Center, and both the Berklee School of Music and Yale University’s President’s Councils. At New York University, she is Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Board of the Tandon School of Engineering, Chair of the President’s Global Council, and serves on the Boards of the Stern School of Business and Langone Health System.

Chandrika Tandon has received numerous awards for her integrity and leadership, including the Gallatin Medal, New York University’s highest honor for outstanding contributions to society; the Walter Nichols Medal, representing the highest ideals of business, service, and integrity from NYU Stern; and the Polytechnic Medal, recognizing her efforts for science and engineering. Additionally, she was named an Inaugural Distinguished Alumnus of both the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Madras Christian College. Most recently, Americans for the Arts announced Chandrika as the 2018 recipient of the BCA Leadership Award.
