Angela Lamar
soprano
Soprano Angela Lamar is passionate about exposing new audiences to opera and song, and challenging audience perceptions through her innovative artistry and versatile technical abilities. Angela recently completed her master’s degree at Louisiana State University under the tutelage of renowned tenors Robert Grayson and Paul Groves. During her time at LSU, she prepared the roles of Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Blanche in Dialogues des Carmelites, and La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi. Angela completed her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance at Colorado State University under the instruction of Dr. John Carlo Pierce. There, she performed the roles of L’enfant in L’enfant et les sortileges, Orfeo in Orfeo ed Euridice, and Amastre in Serse. Angela’s most recent engagements include premiering the role of Herstory in Hannah Rice's Seneca Falls, performing in an Operatizers concert with the Peach State Opera Company, and covering the role of Nicklausse in Opera Louisiane's production of Les Contes d'Hoffmann. She is excited to make her role debut as Mimi in the Music Academy’s production of La bohème. She’s also looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate with new partners in unique song projects and ensembles and learn from such esteemed industry professionals.
