Lehrer Vocal Institute

The Lehrer Vocal Institute prepares pianists and singers for a 21st century career through training and mentorship by expert teaching artists. Fellows enjoy numerous training and performance opportunities including masterclasses and private lessons. Lehrer Vocal Institute fellows will be featured in three special productions this summer— Una Noche en Miraflores with Ana María Martínez, Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème conducted by Daniela Candillari and directed by Mo Zhou, and Hahn Hall Cabaret: 1979, an innovative and contemporary production directed by James Darrah and musically directed by Craig Terry. The productions are prepped extensively by the Academy’s music and acting staff. In addition to these performance opportunities, Lehrer Vocal Institute fellows will also be able to participate in Industry Day, an audition for a panel comprised of industry leaders followed by individual feedback sessions. The summer culminates in the annual Marilyn Horne Song Competition, an opportunity that showcases all Lehrer Vocal Institute fellows.

Ricordi, plate number 99000, is the official vocal score for this production.

We will be presenting La bohème with one intermission, between Act II and Act III.
